Director Jon M. Chu is hard at work on both the G.I. Joe : revenge sequel and the long - in - development - hell Masters of the Universe movie . While the former depend on The Rock ’s schedule , and the latter depends on when G.I. Joe 3 picture show , Chu is set to verify He - Man return to picture show theaters .
Chu talked toSuperheroHypeabout MotU :
“ I believe that what serve us is eff what we do in ‘ Joe ’ and knowing that ‘ headmaster ’ has to be very dissimilar and has to feel very unlike , but the hand for ‘ master of the Universe ’ is what really hooked me , ” he said about the project . “ I love ‘ Masters of the Universe , ’ but I did n’t know necessarily how to make it into a movie until I read the script and thought , ‘ Oh my gosh , I totally see it . I get how this is going to stir it up , I get how this is dissimilar from any other matter , ’ and it got me really really excited . We ’re still working on that one and ‘ Joe ’ has momentum right now . The consultation has been nifty and they want another one , so we ’re rushing to get that done and Dwayne has a sure fourth dimension flow so it may end up that ‘ Joe ’ extend first in all those thing and I do n’t eff if ‘ schoolmaster of the Universe ’ will waitress for me or where that ’s going to end up . But right now it ’s been great . We ’ve been designing a gross ton of clobber for ‘ Masters of the Universe ’ as a really beautiful , grounded , honorable world – that ’s the best means I can describe it . It ’s everything you want ‘ Masters of the Universe ’ to be in term of the phantasy but not in a way theatrical softheaded elbow room . It is in reality a gorgeous world that we ’re doing in the initial visual conception that we ’ve been making . ”
Personally , as a hardcore He - Man rooter , I would be perfectly fine if a Masters of the Universe film never gets made — partially because I think it ’s such a tricky concept to do accurately on screenland , but mostly because I ’m mad and unless the movie on the button touch the very specific ideal of Masters of the Universe I have in my head I ’ll be in complete agony . I ’m not lofty of this . I ’m just saying .
