Just like its forerunner , 10 Cloverfield Lane arrived out of nowhere and made us put together tiny clue . But with the footage that aired during the Super Bowl , we mean we ’ve finally bring a handle on it .
you may see it allhere , but what bear out directly is that for flick with a plaster bandage of three , two of them show up a mountain and one barely at all .
We first see Mary Elizabeth Winstead in a nighttime gondola crash , follow by a pellet of her running away from a cable car . It ’s belike safe to say that she ’s operate from a “ rescue ” by John Goodman .
Her ladder takes place at dawn , so either she ’s just been found by Goodman or she ’s been running for a while . Or this is from later in the film and is one of her escape effort . It ’s unclear . I think it ’s probably related to the first shot , since Winstead assume a tank top in almost other scene we see and is only in a crownwork in the collapse and here . But the lighting on this scene have it impossible to support to 100 percent certainty .
“ I focus on being prepared , ” say Goodman . A line which recreate into the outline idea that Winstead ’s character thinks she ’s been nobble by a prepper .
Winstead Wake up in the dingier part of the bunker , given that we see the residual of it is supply and carpeted . This seems less like a fall out protection and more of a prison house .
Here ’s the first indication that there are more characters than Goodman and Winstead are in this film . John Gallagher , Jr. ’s got a casting . And the function of the grate for the volcano reference something else we see in the preview .
Winstead pee a makeshift weapon .
The room throw off and the warning light goes off . The grate shot , this one , and the repeat of the throw off elbow room is all we see of Gallagher in this footage .
I ’m jolly convinced there are two stages to this picture : Winstead captured by Goodman and trying to get away from his fake “ chemical substance spillage ” line AND whatever pass after the existent disaster that wreak Gallagher down into the bunker with them . The lighting of the scenes with all three — and the dissimilar turnout Winstead ’s wearing — really reenforce that idea .
See , here she is in the vent . seek to take to the woods or fixing something ?
Winstead ’s got a bundle of stuff and nonsense and is running right into a fire . We see an blowup later that might be related to this .
From the cement walls and the rag , this looks like where Winstead wakes up , earlier in the trailer . Also a planetary house that things are n’t good for her .
They show the dugout shaking again and then :
she attacks Goodman with a break bottleful .
I ’m sound to do something I rarely do in these breakdowns . I ’ve taken the scene of Goodman opening the Swamp Pop from earlier in the preview and put it down next to a scene from much later in the film . Above , so can see an unopened nursing bottle of the same drink in the scene where Winstead assault Goodman .
These two very much look like they come from the same successiveness .

This is the only crack of a hazmat - like masquerade party , which is probably related to Goodman state Winstead that he ’s go along her down in the bunker after a “ chemical substance spillway . ” It could be what Winstead is conduct when running into the firing scene . Naturally , she might want to put the masquerade party on so she can escape .
Goodman seize her in one scene and then we get a freestanding one of him pounding the paries and yell . “ I cognise this day would amount . It ’s not safe out there , ” Goodman ’s voiceover has been tell up to this point .
It looks like Winstead got out in the hazmat suit — comment the red and rubbery parts that look like a match for the mask we saw earlier — and discovered that she did n’t ask the mask . But something else is number up over the house . We hear a roar and see a bright igniter , which could mean that the ending of Cloverfield is the disaster that sends her back .
Cloverfield had a turkey go off and the monster bellow at the end . If 10 Cloverfield Lane takes place nearby , in the same population , then we have the connection between the two that J.J. Abramsspoke about .
