Today theMagicteam divulge evenmorecards to players , and they ’re fill with incredible nods toFinal Fantasyhistory … include an absolute gem fromFinal Fantasy X.
Today Wizards revealedthe full card listsfor each of the fourFinal Fantasypreconstructed Commander Decks that will set up alongside the enlargement next calendar month . The four deck are built around four iconic entry from the mainlineFinal Fantasyseries : Revival Trance , based onFinal Fantasy VI ; Limit Break , found onFinal Fantasy VII ; Counter Blitz , based aroundFinal Fantasy X ; and scion and Spellcraft , based aroundFinal Fantasy XIV . Each pack of cards of 100 cards is completely theme for theFinal Fantasyset , from wholly new cards to re - flavored return on already - existentMagiccards with raw thematically appropriate artistry .
One such re - flavor in the Counter Blitz pack of cards is Inspiring Call , a green mana instant that has been around in variousMagicsets since it first appeared in 2015’sDragons of Tarkir . It ’s a simple enough card , granting any creatures you control that you ’ve given +1/+1 counters to irregular protection while also drawing a few cards . But in Counter Blitz , it becomes , well , more of an inspiring laugh :

Yes , decently down to the flavor text , we ’re getting Yuna and Tidus ’ ill-famed laughter scene fromFinal Fantasy Xin wag shape . Most of the nod are reverentially serious , beseem the passionateness that ’s on display for this coming together of fantastical Titan . But it ’s nice that in cards like Inspiring Call ’s remixing , theFinal Fantasyset knows when to have a moment of forced laughter at itself too .
