Animals , like human being , communicate in lots of dissimilar room . One of those ways , in animals as in humans , involvesurinatingon one another .
Well , not right on one another , since the Pisces are in the water . scientist at the Institute of Ecology and Evolution of the University of Bern inquire whether cichlid fish were puddle simply because they had to , or as a means of communicate hostility . It turns out that furious cichlid fish lease out some pee to tell one another they ’re pissed . Fish literally have pissing contests .
The first step was to create an experimentation to measure when and why the Pisces were exempt themselves . The researchers built special fish tanks in which two fish are separated by an opaque barrier and a transparent barrier . In some tanks the barriers had hole , and in other tanks they lacked hole . Once the Pisces the Fishes were acclimated to the water , the scientist anesthetize them and put in them with a particular dye to help dog their pee — this also turned the by nature pink fish blue . Finally , they measure the amount of fish pee and routine of pissing pulses , remove the opaque roadblock , value the pee , put the roadblock back , and measure out the pee again .

In all showcase , the bigger fish wee more — but more importantly , both fish peed more when they could see each other but could n’t sense the chemicals in each other ’s urine — when the roadblock without holes separated them . The scientists thus concluded that pissing and its chemical are significant for cichlid communicating , and published theirincredible resultsin the journal Behavioral Ecology and Sociobiology last week .
“ We show that N. pulcher actively point aggressive tendencies via adapted urination patterns , ” the researcher spell . “ Furthermore , we show that appropriate agonistical responses come out to be dependent on the availability of such chemical information , ” meaning the fish had to detect each others ’ urine to respond to it .
This is n’t thefirst timescientists have done a subject area like this , but they do say that chemical communication between Pisces is something that needs to continue being study . I take their word for it .

I do n’t have any concluding thoughts here . scientist take note Pisces have pissing contests . Incredible .
