Google Glass is dead , and the company isdoing everything it can to make the world forgetit ever sold the wearable experimentation . It was n’t a complete tragedy , though . The product had occasional moments of brilliance , like this Lego Assistant app that walks substance abuser through building a complex modelling , without the need for a manual .
Developed by Zhuo Chen from Carnegie Mellon University ’s School of Computer Science , Lego Assistant uses the pixelated gaming mat from Lego’sLife of Georgegame to allow the Google Glass app to recognize a Lego conception as it ’s being assembled . Using the heads - up video display and voice pedagogy , the app walks a user through build up a Lego model step - by - step . It ’s even smart enough to know when a brick has been wrongly attached , and will automatically provide whole tone on how to fix the error .
The app was never made available out of doors of Carnegie Mellon University ’s research rotary , and that ’s too bad because it was a good case of how Google Glass might actually have been lawfully useful . But was it enough to vindicate the wearable ’s salacious terms tag ? unquestionably not , even for the most consecrated of Lego lover .
