Adam LevineandMaroon 5are ready to take the stage in Atlanta for the 2019 Super Bowl halftime show — and they’re sharing a preview of their performance to their followers on social media.
Maroon 5 will joinTravis Scottand Big Boi during their highly touted halftime show, and while much of what they have planned is still under wraps, the band is giving fans a brief glimpse behind the Super Bowl curtain. In a two-part video posted to YouTube, Maroon 5 revealed some of the creative processes that went into planning the show, which Levine previously said he had put much “thought” and “love” into.
“No one thought about it more than I did,” Levinesaid duringaninterviewwithEntertainment Tonightthis week. “No one put more thought and love into this than I did.”
Many on social media had criticized Maroon 5 for agreeing to perform in the show, as some artists publicly stated they would not participate. But Levine tried to calm the criticism before the game.
“And once again, I like to think that people know where I stand as a human being after two decades doing this. I’m not a speaker. I’m not a public speaker. I do speak, but it’s through the music,” Levine explained toEntertainment Tonight.

“They will be [heard] — that’s all I want to say because I don’t want to spoil anything,” he continued.
In two behind-the-scenes photos posted to Instagram, the band showed themselves hanging out during rehearsals at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta. Another one showed Levine standing around at the center of the stage as flames surrounded him.
Levine assured critics that the performers would allude to the movement “through the music.”
“I think we wanted to make sure we were able to speak once again through the music,” Levine toldEntertainment Tonight.
“Once we processed these things, it took a lot of looking inward and introspection and I thought to myself, ‘What is my greatest tool, you know, what is the thing that I can use to express myself,” he continued. “The best way for the band to express themselves, and how are we going to do it this year? What do we owe the people?”
