A total of 313 locations in the Indian , Pacific , and Atlantic ocean were try at variable depths up to 6,000 meters . The 200,000 sample were tested for temperature , salt , gases such as oxygen and carbon dioxide , and the data was put into context of use based on amount of sunlight , ocean current forte , and other factors .

While they found a considerable amount of charge plate debris , there was not as much as previous estimation would have indicated . This discrepancy could have have come from animals consume big quantity of plastics , the charge plate lavation ashore ( potentially becomingplastiglomerate ) , the detritus sticking to other animate being or their dung make it to go under , or the plastic has weaken down past the point of detection . Each hypothesis has its flaws , and further written report is needed to find out what is happening to the plastic in the our sea and the full result it has on those ecosystems .
