Offset just dropped a major bombshell about his relationship status — anda marriage certificateseems to confirm the news.
After Migospicked up the award for best groupat the BET Awards on Sunday night, the rapper, 26, gave a surprising shout-out toCardi Bwhen he called his pregnant fiancée, who was not present at the awards show, “my wife.”
During his brief speech, Offset remarked, “Thank God, I thank my wife, you should thank yours.”
TMZ reportsthat the two are, in fact, married — and have been for nine months. The site obtained a marriage certificate showing that Kiari Kendrell Cephus and Belcalis Marlenis Almanzar — a.k.a. Offset andCardi B— were wed Sept. 20, 2017 in Atlanta, Georgia. The ceremonywent down in their bedroom, the site reports, and says the only witness aside from the officiant was Cardi’s cousin.
A month later, Offsetproposed onstage with an 8-carat diamond ring… but the couple had already reportedly made it official.
Reps forCardi Band Offset did not immediately return PEOPLE’s request for comment.
Of course, this isn’t the first time Offset has referred toCardi Bas his wife.
While sharing a pearl of wisdom abouthow to make relationships workin a recent interview withRolling Stone, the Migos rapper said, “Guys, fellas!You’ll lose your wifetrying to stop them from being the best they can.”
Opening up about their relationship, he added. “We really love each other. She’s real. I wanted real. I also wanted successful.”
