TheSandlotkids are all grown up.

More than 25 years after the iconic film first hit theaters, aSandlotreboot has been confirmed. Writer and director David Mickey Evans has announced plans for a television revival of the 1993 movie.

“I just sold aSandlottelevision show. We’re about to get an order for the first two seasons,” Evanstold thebaseball podcastThe Rain Delay,according toThe Hollywood Reporter.

The series will feature the film’s actors playing their original characters as adults.

“I already got all the original cast members back,” Evans said. “It takes place in 1984, when they’re all, like, 33 years old and they all have children of their own, and that’s all I can tell you.”

And while plot details are sparse, the show would mark the secondSandlot-inspired project in the past year. Over the summer, aprequel was reportedto be in the early stages of development at Twentieth Century Fox.

Evans was also connected to the project, returning to co-write the script, according toDeadline.

In April, most of the film’s formerly pint-sized stars reunited on theTODAY Showto talk about how the movie has impacted their lives.

“It’s been crazy. I mean, [it] definitely gets you in places for free,” said Marty York, who played Alan ‘Yeah Yeah’ McClennan. “Can’t walk through a Las Vegas casino without someone yelling, ‘Yeah Yeah.’”

Explaining whyThe Sandlotholds such a special place in people’s hearts, Evans said, “the film was made with the same amount of love that people have for it and it was the greatest summer of our lives.”
