“ It is estimated that only 10 to 15 percent of the world ’s oceans have been survey with the form of technology used in the hunt for MH370 , making this remote part of the Indian Ocean among the most soundly - mapped area of the mysterious sea on the planet , ” excuse Dr Stuart Minchin , chief of Geoscience Australia ’s Environmental Geoscience Division , in astatement . “ So this data point is unique both because of the remote location of the search surface area , and because of the sheer shell of the area surveyed . ”

The information is so elaborate , in fact , that they are even capable to document other objects that litter the sea bed , showing a whole boniface of shipwreck , some of which are entire and some of which are broken aside . The figure are in such a mellow resolution that they are even able-bodied to identify much smaller object that are but a pinprick on the ocean ’s flooring , include   ship cables , individual oil barrels , and hulk skeletons .

The government hopes that while the search was ineffective to place the escape , the data obtained can be put to economic consumption by geologist , marine biologists , and other scientist alike . While they have only resign a fortune of the data so far , the plan is to publish a 2nd Seth at some spot in 2018 .
