The Earth ’s largest living crocodilian , the saltwater crocodile ( Crocodylus porosus ) ,   has some powerful glasses to its name . Males can produce up to about 5 cadence ( 16   feet ) farseeing and weigh   in at 450 kilograms ( 1,000 pounds ) , but there have   been sightings of the carnivorous reptile at 7 meters recollective ( 23 feet ) and count 1,000 kilo ( 2,200 pounds ) . “ At first we think they were push , but as we went around the box a bit more you could see what had happened , ” said Yellow Water   Cruise ’s   trainee scout Nikki Davies to The Advertiser . “ Maxi had in his jaws the top jaw of the other croc . He ’d just sunk his teeth into the mastermind and eyes which was horrible because we could still see it alive . ”

This was quite a striking passel for Davies , especially as she ’s only in the second calendar week of her traineeship as a sail usher . “ I intend it was about present off who ’s the boss in the region . nutrient sources are n’t scarce in Yellow Water , and a croc would be harder to still-hunt than a docile doll , ” Davies continue . “ This was definitely more to do with Maxi evince his dominance , and marking his dominion . ”

This display of territorial supremacy was also a first for seasoned professional tour guide and Davy ’ wise man Chad Grosenberg . “ You commonly see the crocs on the Sir Joseph Banks sunning themselves . You think they ’re big and lazy,”saidGrosenberg . “ To see something like this gives you a fresh - found respect . You ’re reminded a bit of what they can in reality do . ”

In the 1970s , saltwater crocodiles were hunted tonear extinctionin Australia . They are now a protected metal money .
